FOTW is a seasonal look at happenings in and around the studio through photos and reflective musings. As the nights draw in and the temperature drops, this time of year is often framed as a natural pause — a chance to slow down, take stock, and reset. Here at Webb, however, the past few months have been anything but quiet.

Following a busy show period and the launch of our rebrand over the summer, we’ve hunkered down and concentrated on what we enjoy most: project work. With numerous projects currently running through the office, all at varyings stages of development, maintaining focus is essential. Much of our work targerts a spring launch, as tooling deadlines fast approach, the weeks just before and after the New Year are some of the most critical.

Lighting

One of the projects we’re most excited to launch next year explores a typology we haven’t revisited in some time: lighting. After two years of focused development, the project is now entering its final stages. It brings together technology and application in a way that isn’t currently available in the market, challenging conventional expectations of how lighting can perform and be experienced. We’re looking forward to sharing more details soon.

There’s no substitute for meeting in person

Faces and places, old and new

Over the past few months, we’ve travelled across the Atlantic and throughout mainland Europe, meeting with existing partners and exploring new opportunities. There is no doubt, despite advances in remote communication, there’s no substitute for meeting in person. This is especially the case for work such as ours which is so heavily routed in the physical. Mindful of our carbon impact, we consolidate travel into week-long visits – it’s amazing just how much progress can be made when efforts are focused.

One of the most critical aspects of our process is understanding manufacturing capabilities and constraints. We’ve visited hundreds of factories over the years and never come across two the same. It is in the specificities of each that innovation can be found, and it is only in physically visiting sites and having detailed conversations that the insights so critical to innovation can be uncovered.

2025 has marked a period of transformation for us at Webb. As we come to the close of another successful year, we would like to sincerely thank all our partners and everyone we’ve had the pleasure of working with along the way. Your trust, collaboration, and support have been instrumental in helping us grow and evolve. We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together and can’t wait to see what 2026 brings.
