Blending lounge comfort with ergonomic support for productive work, Obee is a modular soft seating system designed to work both within Obeya and beyond. Reconfigurable and highly customisable, the system offers a versatile palette of options to suit a wide range of environments and needs. Acoustic thick screens elevate privacy and provide an architectural presence designed to define space across a landscape.
Whilst there are numerous soft seating options on the market, few are tailored for work. Obee started with a simple idea; can we merge the softness of lounge seating (aesthetic + functional) with an ergonomic working position? Extensive development went into perfecting the sit - tuning comfort, support, and posture.
The final design incorporates a sculpted lumbar support with just the right softness, seat depth and height. Moulded foam allows us to calibrate comfort and ensure consistence. The result balances soft tactile properties with refined ergonomics for extensive periods of work.
I first met Webb in 2015 and was immediately attracted to their design sensibilities, thirst for understanding, and perspective to design focused on our brand and the users versus themselves. I asked them to always challenge and see the things we don’t see. They always painstakingly and lovingly follow through and it has been the foundation of a highly-respected partnership.
