Kaleid + Ezel
Kaleid + Ezel

Our relationship to work is evolving—how, where, and when we work varies across individuals and teams. Hybrid models have sharpened office design on activities less remotely productive – mainly collaboration. Coupled with the growing need for agility, workplaces demand more responsive, adaptable environments.

Kaleid is a collection of mobile space-defining elements that empower users to shape their workspace. By giving individuals greater control and ownership, Kaleid supports engagement and productivity, whilst offering a more sustainable alternative to fixed partitions, able to adapt as needs change and separated at end of life for recycling. Ezel—a range of lightweight screens and mobile caddies—works with Kaleid and beyond to boost workplace collaboration, a key draw back to the office.

When strategising the growing need for collaborative tools, an ecosystem of products was mapped out. Individual but united, each serves a specific purpose whilst responding harmoniously to one another. Kaleid and Ezel are the first chapter.

Human Centred

For all projects we interrogate the relationship between a product and the people who use it. For Kaleid, this relationship defined every aspect of the execution.

Designed to empower employees through direct engagement, mobility was key from the outset. With this we opted for exposed castors, a visual cue ensuring the product is flexibly coded. Conscious of size and presence, the a-frame is born directly from user consideration, designed to instil confidence by grounding the unit and lowering its centre of gravity – emphasising stability and a sense of trust. Visible bumpers add yet another indication of function and signal of encouragement. This thoughtful design earned Kaleid a NeoCon Gold in recognition of its human-centred design.

Soft architecture offers a flexible, space-defining toolkit that adapts to the needs of all stakeholders.

Client testimonial

I first met Webb in 2015 and was immediately attracted to their design sensibilities, thirst for understanding, and perspective to design focused on our brand and the users versus themselves. I asked them to always challenge and see the things we don’t see. They always painstakingly and lovingly follow through and it has been the foundation of a highly-respected partnership.
