Hidden Innovation

During development we explored the installer’s relationship to product deployment. Often influential in specification, they emerged as key stakeholders. Through direct engagement, we discovered that traditional installation methods often led to misalignments and inefficiencies, resulting in snags. This insight inspired a bespoke, innovative fixing solution.

A simple circular hanging cup with an off-centre fixing enables installers to fine-tune alignment through rotational adjustment - streamlining installation. Made from minimal recyclable plastic, it also enhances sustainability by reducing material and energy use compared to traditional mountings.

Sustainable Innovation

Research identified the filling - comprising the largest proportion of the product - as a key area for improvement. Traditional foam or fiberglass was replaced with fully recycled and recyclable paper sourced from the construction industry, significantly enhancing sustainability while also improving acoustic performance and reducing weight. Dimensions derived from this material stock – optimising yield and cost.
